Dubai & Abu Dhabi week

A while ago we had a weeks holiday and we have decided to visit our neighbouring countries Abu Dhabi and Dubai. We first went to Abu Dhabi and spent 3 days there. It was such great city and is a bit more relaxed than his brother, Dubai. Burger King was one of our first stops and a yummy Starbucks coffee to top it all off. The Dunkin Donut company also had an increase in sales during our visit and I think we should demand some shares or profits.

A visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is well worth the time and effort. The white structure outside is astonishing! Make sure you take your sunglasses with you, as the white buildings and marble flooring reflects quite a bit. The mosque is beautiful on the inside and you can see why is one of the largest mosques in the world. It has the capacity for 40 000 worshippers.

Ferrari World is also a place worth the visit, if you put aside a whole day for it. We went in the afternoon just to browse and went up to where they ask for your ticket. We went inside the Ferrari World shop and bought some souvenirs to take home.  The rest of the time we took some much needed afternoon naps and went to a big shopping centre to ensure that we don't forget that eating is a very important part of any tour.

After our time in Abu Dhabi, we went to Dubai. There were a few highlights: being 452m above the ground in the highest building in the world (Burj Khalifa), the musical fountain at night, The Cheesecake Factory (try the Macaroni and cheese burger, and of course the cheesecakes are the best!!), we've spent half a day at Aquaventure Waterpark (Atlantis), taking a cruise on the Creek and visiting the Souqs. We've left one of the best sights for last: Spinneys. This is the shop where we could buy some South African products like: Cream Soda, Appletizer, All Gold tomato sauce, Blatjan, Mieliepap, Bar Ones, a variety of biscuits etc. It makes a trip to Dubai well worth it!

Thanks to my partners in crime: Rishon, Mia and Tersia. We make a mean travelling team!

Here are some of the photo's I've took during the trip (there were 923 photos, so choosing a few were very tough)
